Northeast Excellence Award for Omi Gurung

GANGTOK: Sikkimese fashion designer and social entrepreneur Omi Gurung (Sandeep Gurung) was conferred The Telegraph Northeast Excellence Award 2017 for his contribution to the growth and development of Sikkim and the Northeast region during an award function at Guwahati on Thursday. The award was presented by The Telegraph’s vice-president Dhurbu Mukherjee.
Omi also made a presentation about his venture Green Gangtok and appealed everyone to be eco-conscious and be the change. He said, “Small changes do make big impacts and when you change, the world around you changes.”
The award ceremony was attended by eminent personalities of the Northeast.
Omi had also received the Young Naturalist Award at Balipara Foundation Awards 2017 held at Guwahati, last year.
The Telelegraph Northeast Excellence Awards 2017 recognizes and acknowledges the contribution made by individuals in varied sectors across the eight States of Northeast.
