SILIGURI: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today arrived at Siliguri for the crucial second round of talks with political parties of the hills.
The meeting is taking place at Uttarkanya on Tuesday.
Asked whether the GJM will attend the meeting, Tourism minister Gautam Deb said: “I am not the right person to say they will be invited for the meeting or not. We should respect the aspiration of the hill people. They (Morcha) had committed mistakes, now they want to choose the right path.”
The GJM is presently struggling with factionalism.
Rebel leader Binay Tamang said he is attending the meeting in his capacity as the chief coordinator of the Morcha.
The GJM has already said it is sending a six-member delegation consisting of the three party MLAs and three senior functionaries.
GNLF president Mann Ghisingh is leading a 9-member delegation for the meeting.
