Sikkim Express is the first, the oldest and most read English daily of the tiny Himalayan state Sikkim. The only English daily from the state with an online edition www.sikkimexpress.com

Sikkim Express is totally dedicated in providing news to its readers, thereby gaining the trust and readership of different sections of the society not only in Sikkim but also in areas of Northe Bengal.

It is infact, the oldest newspaper in the state with an unparalleled track record of 31 years of uninterrupted news service. Sikkim Express was first published in 1976 just within a year of Sikkim's merger with India as the 22nd state of the country in 1975. The paper celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 2001 with 25 years of dedicated and uninterrupted services.

This is not the only 'first' for Sikkim Express. It is also the only newspaper from Sikkim, and probably the only paper from this region to bag the coveted Best Small Newspaper (English) Award in 1986 at the All India Conference of Small and Medium Newspapers held in Chennai.

It Was in May 2003 that Sikkim Express achieved yet another landmark in the history of journalism in Sikkim by changing the publication from a weekly newspaper to a daily in acknowledgment of the growing public demand.

Since then, Sikkim Express has witnessed a giant leap in terms of increase in readership as well as popularity as a daily, and this growth is prooving to be a constant process.

Sikkim Express has always set standards in the field of journalism in Sikkim and is determined to create many more landmarks.
