Teesta Stage V to resume power generation from today

After one and half months of shutdown, the Teesta Stage V power project at Singtam will resume its production from tomorrow.
The 510 MW power project, which was commissioned early this year, had run into trouble due to the flooding of the Teesta River near the dam site in Dikchu and the protective walls of the reservoir loosening. Power generation has stopped since the reservoir got filled with the unprecedented amount of silt and flood materials.
The power house had been shut down as it posed danger to the residents of Dikchu Bazaar.
