Covid tally in Sikkim drops down to 38

GANGTOK: The Covid-19 tally in Sikkim has dropped to 38 active cases with 50 other patients having been discharged from the hospitals after successfully recovering from coronavirus.
Among the actives cases, 24 patients are admitted at STNM hospital, five patients are admitted at Ayush hospital, Kyongsa near Geyzing and nine patients at Samdruptse treatment centre near Namchi.
Health director general-cum-secretary Dr.Pempa T Bhutia, in his Monday health bulletin, informed that a new Covid-19 positive case was reported on Saturday.
The 25-year-old person had returned to Sikkim from Bengaluru on June 17 and was admitted at a facility quarantine centre.
“He complained of having fever and accordingly, his sample was collected for test. The result came positive on Saturday,” said Dr.Pempa.
The patient has been shifted to the isolation ward in STNM hospital.
Dr.Pempa informed that 20 contacts of the person have been traced who will also be tested for Covid-19.
