GANGTOK,: A nationwide distribution of essential commodities to needy people and shelter homes was undertaken by Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti (MUSS) from Janaury 3 to 17. The initiative was undertaken as per the directives of MUSS founder and spiritual leader Satpal Maharaj, informs a press release on Tuesday.
Under the campaign, 25 States were covered by the MUSS volunteers wherein essential commodities were presented to old age homes, orphanages and similar shelter homes covering around 16,435 persons. The essential materials also included wheel chairs, healthcare equipment, medicines, utensils, warm clothes, shoes and food items.
Similarly, the Sikkim MUSS unit also distributed essential commodities to orphanages and old age homes in the State, the release mentions. The Sikkim MUSS unit also provided cement, sand and construction materials for repair and construction of the shelter homes here.
