Schools-colleges to remain closed till Jan 31

Amid surge in Covid-19 cases in Sikkim, the schools and colleges in the State will remain closed till January 31, the State government said in a circular today.  
All schools were scheduled to reopen after winter break on January 17.
The circular issued by Education department read, “All State government, government aided, and private institutes, universities, colleges, tutorials, coaching institutes and hostels will remain closed till January 31, 2022. “
Likewise, the annual examinations of government schools slated to be held from start on January 27 have been postponed till January 31. “Examinations or any other activities of the government-aided and private educational institutions, universities, colleges, tutorials and coaching institutes which are not possible through virtual mode shall also stand postponed till January 31, 2022,” the circular added.
For Central government institutes, directions issued by Central government will apply.
The department has instructed all heads of institutions to continue the conduct of online classes as per the convenience of the respective institutions, scrupulously observing all Covid-19 protocols.
