GANGTOK,: Much anticipated Nepali thriller film ‘Bealuki 8:00 Bajea’ is all set to premiere on January 31 at Manan Kendra here. The film is presented by D-OM under the banner of E4A.
The 45-minute thriller film with the theme ‘value of time’ has been directed and scripted by Prakash Basnett. The cast and crew includes debutants Rabin Chettri and Kunika Suji in lead roles and Aniket Sunar, Sajit Bangdel, Vickey Sampang, Anu Doungel, Indra Hang Rai, Sancha Hang Subba, Roshan Chettri and Dawa Namgyal Tamang as supporting actors, Deepak Pandey as cinematographer/editor, and Aditya Pradhan as music director.
The cast and crew consist entirely of Sikkimese artists, it was informed.
“‘Bealuki 8:00 Bajea’ is a low-light thriller film that has been shot in-and-around Gangtok. The film has been created to make the current generation understand the value of time and friends. The film portrays that each second is important and people should not take time for granted,” expressed director Prakash Basnett.
“I was always interested in film-making. This is my second time directing a film and I got to learn a lot from it. The first film was ‘Mero Saathi’ (2019),” he added.
The shoot for the film began during mid-2019 and was completed by December 2020.
“There were various challenges as it took a lot of time due to the lockdown imposed and unfavourable weather conditions, but the team was very supportive. We want the audience to understand our challenges and keep supporting us by watching our film,” said cinematographer Deepak Pandey.
“This is my first time acting and I have worked hard on it. We want the audience to support us,” expressed debutant Rabin Chetrri.
“I was always interested in acting and facing the camera. I am happy that I am being casted in ‘Bealuki 8:00 Bajea’. I got to learn a lot from it. I expect the movie to be a hit,” said Kunika.
The premiere shows will be held at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. During the event, two music videos ‘Salala’ and ‘Saas’, sung by Raiba Rai will also be released. The actors in the music video are Bina Basnett, Dey Hang Limboo, Yashoda Basnett, Sheetal Rasaily and Prashant Gurung.
D-OM’s YouTube page has also received approximately four lakhs views for the upcoming film. The artists who have contributed to the page will also be felicitated during the premiere.
Chief Minister’s political advisor Jacob Khaling has consented to attend the premiere as the chief guest, it was informed. SIKKIM EXPRESS is the exclusive media partner.
