Tusker damage houses

SILIGURI: A wild elephant entered Chenga village under Mirik block on Thursday night and damaged a shop, two houses and standing crops. The villagers had to spend a sleepless night as the tusker moved around their area.
Three persons had been killed by an elephant some months back in the area.
It is not the first time…elephants have been damaging our properties and putting our lives at risk for many years, said villager Diwakari Chettri.
