84th SLBC meeting reviews progress, launches annual credit plan for 2025-26

GANGTOK,: The 84th State Level Bankers' Committee Meeting for the State of Sikkim was held in Gangtok today, covering the 1st Quarter ended June 2025.

The meeting was chaired by State Finance controller-cum-secretary and attended by RBI regional director T. Jamyang, State Bank of India general manager cum SLBC convenor Teekam Singh Gehlot, Surinder Kumar from DFS, GoI, NABARD general manager A. K. Sinha and RBI general manager G. Ravi Shanker, along with senior officials from the State government and various banks.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed the performance and achievements of all banks for the first quarter of FY 2025-26, informs a press release. Deliberations also focused on the progress and strategy for saturation of social security schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY), and measures for ensuring timely re-KYC of accounts.

The Annual Credit Plan (ACP) for 2025-26 was formally launched on the occasion, outlining credit deployment roadmap for the State.

The meeting reiterated the commitment of all stakeholders to promote financial inclusion, support economic growth, and enhance the overall banking experience in Sikkim, the release adds.
