Advisors, two political secretaries and OSDs to CM appointed

Dr. Mahendra P Lama appointed as Chief Economic Advisor to CM

GANGTOK,: Nine Advisors to Chief Minister PS Golay were appointed by the State government on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister’s advisors are former minister KN Lepcha, Sonam G. Kaleon, former minister Bishnu Kumar Sharma, Rohit Gurung, TN Dhakal, former minister Phuchung Bhutia, Phuchung Bhutia and CP Sharma (press advisor).

MP Subba was appointed as the Advisor, Education department while eminent economist Dr. Mahendra P Lama was appointed as the Chief Minister’s chief economic advisor.

Chief Minister PS Golay extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to those who received appointments as advisors, secretaries and OSDs.

“I am confident that they will continue to make a positive impact and look forward to the exciting contributions they will make in this new chapter of their professional journey. Wishing them great success as they take on these new responsibilities,” said the Chief Minister.

SKM spokesperson Jacob Khaling was appointed as the political secretary (political affairs) to the Chief Minister and party spokesperson Bikash Basnet was appointed as the Chief Minister’s political secretary (press & publicity affairs).

Sunil Saraogi was appointed as the OSD to the Chief Minister, to be stationed at New Delhi while Suk Prasad Limboo was appointed as the OSD (Limboo) in Culture department.

All these appointments are to be accorded protocol facilities equivalent to that of a cabinet minister.

In another notification issued by the Home department, Shyari MLA Tenzing Norbu Lamtha was appointed as the Advisor, Forest & Environment department.

Similarly, Sonam Palzor Bhutia from Kaluk was appointed as OSD, Education department and Karma Subba from Yangang as the OSD to the Chief Minister (political affairs).

SKM spokesperson Yougan Tamang was appointed as the press secretary to the Chief Minister.
