CM directs expedited restoration & relief works in landslide-hit areas

GANGTOK, June 14 (IPR):  Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang convened a high-level meeting at Mintokgang to address the recent calamity that has significantly impacted the State, causing extensive property damage, and disrupting road connectivity, power supply, food supply, and mobile networks in multiple areas.

This crucial meeting focused on strategizing and coordinating response efforts to restore normalcy and ensure the safety and well-being of residents.

During the meeting, officials provided detailed briefings on the extent of the damage, emphasizing critical road disruptions and the immediate challenges faced by affected communities. They assessed the damage to infrastructure, particularly key roads and bridges essential for transportation and relief operations. Updates on immediate relief measures were also discussed, including the deployment of emergency services and the distribution of essential supplies.

The Chief Minister directed officials to closely monitor the situation and expedite efforts to restore connectivity and deliver relief. Continuous assessment of affected areas was emphasized to identify and prioritize the most critical issues.

The Chief Minister also appealed to the public to stay alert, follow safety guidelines, and cooperate with authorities, stressing that collective efforts are crucial in overcoming the calamity and restoring normalcy.
