GANGTOK, : Chief Minister PS Golay has extended his warmest greetings and
heartfelt best wishes to the people of Sikkim on the sacred and joyous occasion
of Durga Puja, also revered as Bada-Dasain. May this divine festival bring
peace, prosperity, and happiness to every home and every heart, he said.
“Durga
Puja is a celebration of the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness,
and truth over falsehood. At its spiritual core, the festival honours Goddess
Durga, a powerful embodiment of Shakti, the divine feminine energy that
sustains and nurtures the universe. She represents courage, resilience, and the
indomitable spirit of righteousness. It is this Nari Shakti, the strength and
dynamism of women that we must collectively recognize, respect, and empower in
every sphere of life.”
“This
auspicious time provides us an opportunity not only for celebration but also
for reflection on our values, our responsibilities, and our shared aspirations.
Let us use this moment to rededicate ourselves to the progress and development
of our state and our nation. May the spirit of Durga Puja inspire us to
strengthen the moral fabric of our society, uphold harmony, and deepen the
bonds of fraternity and unity that define Sikkim’s social and cultural ethos,”
said the Chief Minister in his message.
The
Chief Minister urged all to resolve to build a society where women are accorded
the dignity, respect, and opportunities they rightfully deserve. “A truly
progressive society is one where every individual regardless of gender can
contribute equally to its growth and well-being. As we seek the blessings of
the Divine Mother, let us commit to nurturing a community grounded in justice,
equality, and compassion,” he said.
“May
this Durga Puja bring renewed hope, collective strength, and abundant joy to
all. Let the festive spirit guide us towards a future where our traditions
enrich our progress and our unity defines our strength.Wishing everyone a
blessed, joyous, and harmonious Durga Puja,” said the Chief Minister.
