Father-daughter duo from Sikkim to represent State at National Taekwondo Poomsae Championship

GANGTOK,: Sikkim's father-daughter taekwondo duo, international player Grand Master Trilok Subba and his daughter, Adwayti Subba, will represent the State at the 5th National Taekwondo Poomsae Championship to be held from July 9 to 11, at Chhatrapati Shivaji Stadium in Pune, Maharashtra.

Grand Master Trilok Subba, an 8th Dan Black Belt, will compete in the Men's Under-60 Individual Poomsae event as well as the Team Poomsae category. His daughter, Adwayti Subba, a 3rd Dan Black Belt, will participate in the Women's Under-30 Individual Poomsae event and the Team Poomsae competition.

Speaking ahead of the championship, Grand Master Subba said that the tournament would feature strong competition, with several Asian medallists and world-class athletes participating. "The competition will be tough as both of us have to face Asian medallists and world-class players. However, we have prepared well and are determined to bring glory to our State, Sikkim," he said.

The father-daughter pair will compete in the individual events on July 9, followed by the team events on July 10, a press release informs.
