French Ambassador visits places of interest in North Sikkim

MANGAN,(IPR): Ambassador of France, Thierry Mathou paid a visit to places of cultural and historic importance in Kabisubdivision under Mangan District today. The delegate was accompanied by his spouse Cécile Mathou, members of the Consulate team from Kolkata, Political and Cooperation Officer, Mr YazidSoussi, and other delegates.

During the visit, the delegates engaged in interactions and explored areas of mutual cooperation. The dignitaries visited various monasteries, and explored the state’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.

On his arrival, the Ambassador was received at Labrang Monastery, Phodong, by Sub Divisional Magistrate, Kabi, MonikaRai.

The delegates then visited the historical ruins of the royal palace at Tumlong.

The delegates also visited Phodong monastery, Phensang monastery and the famous site of the Blood Brotherhood Treaty at KabiLungchok.

The visit is a step forward in the area of strengthening ties and promoting cooperation between India and France, particularly in areas of cultural exchange and partnership.
