GANGTOK,: Sikkim has another reason to take pride as Saurav Kumar, son of Manoj
Kumar and a resident of Palzor Stadium Road, Gangtok, has secured All India
Rank 201 in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Combined Defence
Services (CDS) (II) Examination 2025 for the Officers Training Academy (OTA),
Chennai, in his maiden attempt.
A
2020 alumnus of Holy Cross School, Tadong, Saurav completed his B.Tech in
Electrical and Electronics Engineering from National Institute of Technology
Sikkim, graduating with the 2020–24 batch.
Before
clearing the examination, Saurav was working as a consultant with an
information technology company. He subsequently cleared the rigorous Services
Selection Board (SSB) interview and was recommended by Selection Centre South,
Bengaluru.
Saurav
is now set to join the Officers Training Academy, Chennai, where he will
undergo military training and pursue his dream of being commissioned as a
Lieutenant in the Indian Army.
