GANGTOK,: Social Welfare, Women, Child, Senior Citizen and Divyangjan Welfare minister Samdup Lepcha called on Governor Om Prakash Mathur at Raj Bhavan here today.
The minister was accompanied by the executive members of the Special Olympics Bharat–Sikkim Chapter, a Raj Bhavan release informs.
During the courtesy meeting, the Governor handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to the Special Olympics Bharat Chapter as financial aid to promote sports, training, and inclusive development for persons with special needs.
It may be mentioned here that during the State-Level Special Games 2025 on 25 April, 2025, the Governor announced financial aid of Rs 5 lakh to Special Olympics Bharat–Sikkim Chapter.
The Governor appreciated the efforts of the organization and remarked that this support would be instrumental for inclusive growth, the Raj Bhavan release informs.
