MANGAN, (IPR): Governor Om Prakash Mathur visited Mangan district today to
review the implementation of various government schemes and programmes in the
district. The official programme was held at the District Administrative
Centre, Mangan.
Upon
arrival at the District Administrative Centre, the Governor was received by minister
cum MLA, Lachen-Mangan constituency, Samdup Lepcha, chairman, Medicinal Plants
Board, Sonam Gyatso Lachenpa, District Magistrate Anant Jain, Superintendent of
Police Lall Bahadur Chettri, ADC Mangan Pema Wangchen Namkarpa, along with
representatives from the BRO and other senior district officials. A Guard of
Honour was presented by the District Police.
At
the DAC conference hall, the Governor was accorded a warm welcome with a khada,
floral bouquet and a souvenir.
The
programme commenced with a welcome address by the District Magistrate, Mangan,
Anant Jain, following which he made a comprehensive presentation on the
district profile, the Vibrant Village Programme, Ex-Gratia Management System,
and key achievements of the district administration.
Subsequently,
major line departments presented their progress reports and updates on flagship
government schemes, ongoing projects, and developmental initiatives.
Following
the presentations, Minister Samdup Lepcha in his address profusely thanked the
Governor for his fourth visit to Mangan district. He recalled the proactive
support offered by the Governor during the challenging phase following the GLOF
incident of October 2023. He extended his gratitude to the Governor for his
help in rebuilding Chungthang after the disaster.
The minister
also put on record his appreciation for the officers posted in Mangan district.
He lauded the recently launched Ex-Gratia Management System developed by the
district administration for efficient disposal of such payments.
Governor
Om Prakash Mathur in his address lauded the officers of Mangan district
headquarters for the well-prepared presentations, highlighting the ongoing
initiatives, achievements and challenges.
He
urged the officers to further explore innovative ways to reach out to the
people. He advised the officers to adopt three S’s - Samvaad or communication, Sneh
or love and Sanskar or discipline in
their day to day functioning in order to achieve excellence in public service.
During
the presentations by various departments, Governor Mathur put forth questions
and also gave suggestions to ensure efficient implementation of schemes. He
thanked the Border Roads Organisation for their continuous effort in restoring
and improving connectivity in North Sikkim. He also appreciated the progress
made under the Vibrant Village Programme and the digital initiatives of the district
administration.
The
Governor concluded his address by assuring necessary support for the
development of North Sikkim.
Earlier,
the programme also saw the release of technical bulletin of KVK North Sikkim by
the Governor and other dignitaries.
The
programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Additional District
Magistrate, Mangan, Pema Wangchen Namkarpa.
