International award for Sikkim jewellery designer

GANGTOK,: Anurag Sapkota, founder of Gangtok-based startup Elysign Digital LLP, has won the Bronze A’ Design Award 2026 in the Jewellery Design category at Como, Italy.

Speaking on the recognition, Anurag said that opportunities in creative and digital industries are growing rapidly and that young people from smaller states like Sikkim should feel encouraged to explore such fields seriously. He added that consistent learning and long-term dedication is important in any creative profession, a press release informs.

Originally from Chhota Singtam, East Sikkim, Anurag completed his schooling at Tashi Namgyal Academy. He is the son of Ganga Sapkota and Geeta Sapkota.

Anurag completed his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Mumbai University and later pursued his Master’s degree from Pune University. During his academic journey, he was introduced to digital design theories, computational workflows, and parametric design tools used in architecture.

While studying and working in design, he developed a growing interest in jewellery and began exploring how the same digital tools used in architecture could also be applied to jewellery design and visualization. Over time, this interest developed into a full-time professional path.

For the past several years, he has worked with clients from India as well as international clients in the field of jewellery design and visualization, creating bespoke jewellery concepts, detailed digital models, and visual presentations for brands and private clients. He currently works with clients in the United Kingdom through Avenya Ltd., a Nottingham-based company, the release mentions.
