NH 10 closed, light vehicles allowed via Teesta-Jorebungalow and NH 717A

DARJEELING, : The movement of vehicles has been closed on National Highway 10, between Sevoke and Chittrey in West Bengal following development of cracks at km 6.8 of NH-10.

Following the closure of National Highway 10, a lifeline connecting Sikkim and Kalimpong to the plains,Kalimpong SP has issued an advisory recommending three routes for light traffic/small vehicles moving to and fro Gangtok.

The first route is Siliguri-Jorbungalow-Teesta Bazaar- Rangpo-Gangtok. The second route is Siliguri-Sevoke-Damdim-Gorubathan-Lava-Alagarah-Rangpo-Gangtok, and the third route is Siliguri-Sevoke-Bagrakote-Lava-Alagarah-Rangpo-Gangtokthrough NH 717A.

Heavy vehicles is presently restricted to and fro Gangtok due to existing situation on ground, the SP said.
