Ravens win SBL 2025; Girls of Gangyap win women’s title

GANGTOK, : The Sikkim Basketball League (SBL) 2025 organised by Basketball Association of Sikkim concluded on August 9 at indoor basketball court in Paljor Stadium complex, Gangtok.

The State-level league was held from June 22 to August 9 featuring 14 teams in the men’s category and six in the women’s category.

Ravens lifted the men’s title after defeating Gtk Ballers, while in the women’s category, Girls of Gangyap emerged champions, beating team Ravens in the final match.

The highest scorer and MVP title in the men’s and women’s final went to Hishey Nedup Wangyal (Ravens) and Eden Bhutia (Girls of Gangyap) respectivley.

The chief guest for the finals was Tenzingla Dorjee Bhutia, SIMFED chairman and chief patron of the Basketball Association of Sikkim. Winners, runners-up, and individual awardees received trophies and cash prizes, informed BAS general secretary Jigmela Wazilingpa.

Rookie of the Year – Men: Pema Chong Bhutia (TIS); Women: Pema Kunzang Lachungpa (Hawks)

Best Defender of the Year – Men: Pema Wangchen Bhutia (Yetis); Women: Edenla Bhutia (Girls of Gangyap)

SBL Outstanding Assists 2025 – Chatra Hang (Gtk Ballers)

SBL Most Valuable Player (MVP) 2025 – Dorjee Wangchuk (Pandas)
