Sikkim native K.C. Lakshminarasimham is making waves in the field of technical
program management with over 20 years of experience driving technological
innovation and leadership across industries such as healthcare, banking, retail
and technology.
An
alumnus of Tashi Namgyal Academy, Lakshminarasimham pursued mechanical
engineering in Madhya Pradesh before embarking on a distinguished career in the
tech industry. He began his professional journey with Infosys Technologies
Ltd., where his career took him from India to global assignments in China and
the United States.
Currently,
Lakshminarasimham is the director of Program Management at Expedia Group in the
United States, where he leads the Engineering Productivity and Agile Center of
Excellence. His role focuses on driving technological integration, improving
team collaboration, and enhancing process efficiency across teams. Known for
his leadership style, he fosters trust and alignment between technical and
business stakeholders, an approach he views as critical to engineering success.
“What
truly motivates me is the opportunity to merge cutting-edge technology with
program management to enhance processes, predict risks, and achieve strategic
outcomes. Along the way, I’ve embraced a leadership philosophy centered on
building trust and fostering alignment between technical teams and business
stakeholders—a philosophy I believe is crucial to the success of any
engineering management initiative,” Lakshminarasimham told SIKKIM EXPRESS.
Born
into a family with a rich academic legacy, Lakshminarasimham is the son of Dr.
K.R. Chakravarthi, a distinguished educator and writer who served Sikkim’s
educational landscape from the late 1970s to 2007.
“My
family has a rich academic legacy. My father, Dr. K.R. Chakravarthi, dedicated
his career to education in Sikkim since the 1970s. He served as the Head of
Political Science at Sikkim Government College, progressed to vice principal,
and eventually retired as principal of Rhenock Government College. A prolific
writer, he has contributed numerous articles and book chapters on Sikkim, and
recently co-authored Emergence and Continuity of Democracy in Sikkim. My
mother, L Padmavathi, held a respected position as a Senior Officer in the
Accountant General’s Office in Sikkim. My sister, K.C. Archana, is also an
alumna of TNA and pursued her BA and MA in Political Science at Lady Shri Ram
College, New Delhi, followed by journalism studies at the Asian College of
Journalism, Chennai. She worked with IndiaTimes and resides in Gurgaon. My
wife, Dr. Archnaa Rajasekaran, is a practicing dentistry in the United States.
We have twins, Apaar Simham and Asmi Simham,” said Lakshminarasimham.
Lakshminarasimham
has made significant scholarly contributions. As a peer reviewer and author, he
has written on topics like AI, agile methodologies, and leadership, with his
work featured in various academic and industry publications. His commitment to the
field, he has also served as a judge for renowned platforms such as the Globee,
Webby and Stevie Awards.
In
recognition of his contributions, Lakshminarasimham has received an Honorary
Doctorate in Project Management from Azteca University and is a fellow of
numerous prestigious organizations such as the British Computer Society and the
Chartered Management Institute. He is currently pursuing MBA from the Gies
School of Business, University of Illinois, which he complements with ongoing
executive education at Stanford University. Passion Vista Magazine recently
honoured him as “most admired global Indian,” and the Asian-African Chamber of
Commerce & Industry recognized him as a “Distinguished Thought Leader in
Project Management.”
“Looking
forward, I am eager to continue advancing engineering and technical program
management through digital transformation initiatives, mentoring the next
generation of leaders, and contributing to both scholarly and practical
advancements in the field,” he said.
