GANGTOK,: Team Apuphi Pvt. Ltd., Sikkim’s first AI technology company working on a next-generation career ecosystem, met Lok Sabha MP Indra Hang Subba here on Thursday.
The Lok Sabha MP appreciated the initiative and extended his full support, commending the founders for representing Sikkim in India’s growing DeepTech landscape.
Apuphi is currently in its testing phase, developing advanced systems aimed at redefining how individuals learn, connect, and grow in their professional lives, a press release informs.
At present, Apuphi is raising funds to accelerate its development and is seeking collaboration from investors, institutions, and government bodies that share its vision of building meaningful, technology-driven change.
Founded by Diwash Kapil Chettri and Sulabh Raj Gurung from West Sikkim, Apuphi Pvt. Ltd. reflects the story of two determined innovators who turned an idea born in the hills into a national-scale vision.
Diwash, an educator and technologist with a strong background in Computer Science and Education, has led several digital transformation initiatives across Sikkim, blending innovation with purpose.
Co-founder Sulabh Raj Gurung, with a background in Civil Engineering and Business Management, brings a deep understanding of operations, marketing, and large-scale project execution. Together, their combined expertise in technology, education, and entrepreneurship is setting new benchmarks for innovation emerging from Sikkim, the release mentions.
Apuphi’s journey reflects Sikkim’s remarkable transition from handmade to high-tech - from a State once celebrated for its handicrafts, local produce, and small enterprises to one now advancing confidently into the age of AI and digital innovation. After four years of dedicated research and development, Apuphi stands as proof that transformative technology can rise from the mountains just as gracefully as art and craftsmanship once did.
During their meeting, the founders also discussed with the Lok Sabha MP about the challenges of funding for further development. They expressed hope that the government and allied agencies will extend their support to help promising startups like Apuphi scale faster, the release mentions.
