Singtam players shine in North East FIDE chess tournament

RANGPO,: The young chess players from Singtam recently participated in the 22nd North East FIDE Chess Tournament held in Udaipur.

Manasvi Acharya and Palak Agarwal from Mount Zion School were the standout performers. Manasvi secured third place in the Under-11 girls’ category, while Palak finished fifth in the Under-9 girls’ category.

Furthermore, Arnav Rai, Ayan Rai and Akshay Anand earned classical chess ratings.

A total of nine players from Singtam had participated. They are trained by coach Rohit Gurung at Knight Chess Academy in Singtam, which has been instrumental in nurturing young chess enthusiasts.
