SKM Students’ Wing conducts induction programme for newly appointed State & district executives

GANGTOK,: The SKM Students’ Wing successfully organised an induction programme for newly appointed district and State level executives at the SKM party headquarters here on Wednesday.

The programme witnessed the participation of senior party leaders, office bearers, and executive members, informs a press release.

The SKM Students’ Wing meeting was graced by the special presence of Aditya Golay, vice president (in-charge), Tshering Wangchuk Lepcha, president & APS Gangtok district, vice president & chairperson Bhim Kumari Sharma, general secretary & CM’s OSD Reewaj Chettri, ITS member Dr Neeraj Adhikari, OSD Gagan Gurung, vice convener Dawa Namgyal Bhutia, secretary Tirtha Sharma, coordinator Phurba Bhutia, organising secretary Palsang Tamang, and State-level executives Abishek Chettri, Phungwan Subba, Zigmee Gurung, and Jigme Wangchuk Bhutia.

Addressing the gathering, SKM Students’ Wing president Tshering Wangchuk Lepcha welcomed all newly appointed executives and highlighted the purpose behind conducting the induction programme at the party headquarters. He stressed the role and responsibility of district-level executives and underlined the importance of social media networking and effective communication within the organisation.

SKM Students Wing vice president in-charge Aditya Golay congratulated the newly appointed executive members and emphasised the significance of teamwork, dedication, and continuous learning in achieving organisational goals. Referring to recent political developments and election outcomes, he encouraged the executives to work collectively for the welfare of the people and the strengthening of the organisation, the release mentions.

He further reiterated the importance of identifying and resolving grassroots-level problems by coordinating with party leadership on a priority basis. He also stressed the importance of student participation in addressing prolonged issues through active engagement and faster coordination.

During the programme, general secretary Reewaj Chettri shared his political experiences and highlighted the importance of discipline, sincerity, patience, fellowship, and teamwork in political life. He urged members to remain loyal to party ideology and make thoughtful decisions while working for the organisation and society.

Several district representatives and coordinators also addressed the gathering.

Anamika Gurung, Gyalshing district convenor, reflected on the youth-driven movement that contributed to the SKM party’s rise in 2019.

Topden Lachungpa, Mangan district coordinator, stressed the need for better coordination between welfare departments and the students’ wing. Pragyandeep Gurung, Namchi district coordinator, highlighted the importance of post-graduation internships and career-oriented opportunities for students.

Similarly, Tashi Tshering Bhutia, Pakyong district convenor, urged the students’ wing to actively intervene in student-related issues at universities to avoid unnecessary complications in the future.

Students’ Wing secretary Tirtha Sharma requested the creation of additional positions to enhance women’s representation in the organisation and support the vision of women’s empowerment.

The speakers collectively underscored the ideology of inclusiveness, conscious decision-making, selfless dedication, and people-centric politics. They encouraged the newly appointed executives to work with commitment, sincerity, and unity for the greater interest of society and the organisation.

The programme concluded on a positive and enthusiastic note, with all newly appointed executives expressing their commitment towards strengthening the organisation and serving the people with dedication, the SKM Students’ Wing said.
