Trilok Subba to represent Sikkim at Asian Taekwondo Poomsae Championship

GANGTOK,: Grandmaster Trilok Subba from Sikkim has been named in the 25-member Indian national taekwondo team for the Asian Taekwondo Poomsae Championship to be held in Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia, on May 19 and 20.

Subba will compete in the Under-60 men's category along with Laxmi Narayan Das from West Bengal and Gopinath Rajagopal from Tamil Nadu. The selection of the Indian team was done from the recent India Taekwondo 2nd Federation Cup 2025-26.

Subba expressed pride on the opportunity to represent Sikkim and India at an international championship for the third time.

Subba has previously won a bronze medal in Uzbekistan (2014) and secured 5th place in Vietnam (2018. With the experiences of these two events, Subba hopes to win a medal in the upcoming championship.  

Subba said he has been undergoing rigorous training for that purpose.
