Two Sikkim students missing from Gujarat tracked down in Haryana after 18 days

GANGTOK,: The two missing Sikkimese students from Jamnagar, Gujarat were finally traced at Rewari, Haryana, some 100 km from Delhi on Friday.
The teenagers Paljor Tamang and Devraj Subba had gone missing since August 28, with CCTV footages suggesting they had taken a train bound for Rajasthan and later Delhi.
The students studying Pranami Global School in Jamnagar, Gujarat had run away from the school along with a third student from Nepal. Extensive search was conducted in Gujarat firstly and during investigations, the missing students were suspected to have boarded Sultanpur Weekly Express to reach Delhi.
Over the course of last 10 days, Gujarat police along with Delhi police conducted a extensive search going through CCTV footages across many locations connecting Delhi with Jaipur and also at Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh, where they were suspected to have gone.
The three students were finally traced at Rewari working as cleaning staff in a hotel there.
According to information shared by Residential Commissioner’s Office in New Delhi: “They were working as cleaning staff at a hotel in Rewari, to earn some money. They had limited money, no phones and were mostly avoiding police stations and prominent locations to avoid being traced. They had walked extensively to reach Rewari over the course of last two weeks.”
After being tracked down by a 15-member police team from Gujarat, the students were brought to Sikkim House in New Delhi. From there they were immediately taken back to Jamnagar in Gujarat on Friday where the missing case was initially filed.
The parents of the students were also in Delhi aiding the search operation. They are reaching Jamnagar today from where they will take custody of their children, it was informed.
The Sikkim government was aiding in the search operations, with the RC Office informing Chief Minister PS Golay was constantly taking stock of the search operation for the missing students.
During a SKM party event in Barfung, South Sikkim on Friday, the Chief Minister informed of the students being found in Rewari and how the search operations were conducted extensively.
