Union ministers accept CM’s invitation to attend Statehood Golden Jubilee celebrations

GANGTOK, : Chief Minister PS Golay on Thursday met three senior Union ministers in New Delhi and extended invitations, on behalf of the people of Sikkim, for joining Sikkim’s 50th Statehood Day celebrations.

As shared on his social media page, the Chief Minister met Union Home Affairs minister Amit Shah and formally invited him to be a part of the year-long Golden Jubilee commemorative events.

The Union Home Affairs minister graciously accepted the invitation, shared the Chief Minister.

“During the interaction, I also conveyed my warmest congratulations to the Minister of Home Affairs on the success of Operation Sindoor. This significant counter-terror operation stands as a testament to our nation’s firm commitment to eradicating terrorism under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The mission’s success has deeply enhanced our national pride and demonstrated India’s growing strength and resolve on the global front,” said the Chief Minister.

Golay thanked the Union Home Affairs minister for taking the time to meet and for his support, guidance, and encouragement towards the development and well-being of the people of Sikkim.

The Chief Minister also met Defence minister Rajnath Singh and extended a formal invitation for him to join the people of Sikkim in celebrating the 50th year of Sikkim’s Statehood.

I am pleased to share that he has graciously accepted the invitation, said Golay.

He also congratulated the Defence minister on the success of Operation Sindoor, a proud milestone in the nation’s fight against terrorism under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister met Union Power minister ManoharLalKhattarin New Delhi.

“Representing the people of Sikkim, I had the honour of inviting him to be a part of the year-long celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Sikkim’s Statehood.

I am pleased to share that Khattar has kindly accepted the invitation and has expressed his interest in visiting our picturesque Himalayan State to participate in this momentous occasion.I sincerely thank the minister for taking the time to meet with us and for his support and goodwill towards the people of Sikkim,” shared the Chief Minister.
