Lobsang Chopel Lepcha, an adhoc lecturer, said the protest was held to demand stay in the final result and appointment of the candidates selected in the recent recruitment conducted by the State Public Service Commission as the process was not in compliance with UGC norms.
“The State government had assured to absorb and regularise all adhoc employees having served five or more years which was not followed in our case. We have all the required qualifications and have been serving for over 10 years now. We have been left nowhere and deprived of regularization,” said Lepcha.

They expressed hope that their plea would be considered and their services evaluated for regular appointments. “We will continue our protest until the concerned department assures us that the appointments would be withheld,” they maintained.
