USSC, Sikkim Police ease into last four

GANGTOK, August 9: The ‘Camellia’ United Sikkim
Sporting Club (USSC) today trashed Denzong Boyz
Club 4-1 to storm into the semifinals of Sir
Tashi Namgyal Memorial Independence Day football
tournament being played here at Paljor Stadium.
Tenzing Chopel scored a brace in the 38th and
93rd minutes while Ela Loilin also helped
himself to two goals in the 40th and 50th
minutes to complete an easy victory of the USSC.
Ala Hussain Abu Wakar scored the consolation
goal for the Denzong Boyz Club in the 80th
minute.
In another quarterfinal match played today,
Sikkim Police cruised past Ghoom Jorbunglow 3-0.
Thupden Bhutia (28th minute), Milan Lepcha (70th
minute) and Chungda Sherpa (75th minute) scored
the goals for the policemen.
Brotherhood FC will take on Kalighat MS, Kolkata
in another quarterfinal match to be played
tomorrow. |
