Re-verification of weight
measuring units at Lall Bazaar |

GANGTOK, September 3: A re-verification
and stamping drive was conducted by
weights & measures and consumer
protection division of Food and Civil
Supplies department here at Lall Bazaar
shopping complex today.
The drive is an annual event of the
consumer protection unit to establish a
fair deal between the consumers and
shopkeepers. The measuring units were
carefully checked by the consumer
protection team to ensure faulty
measures.
“If any flaws are found, they are
corrected at par with the department
standards”, said Mahesh Sharma, the
assistant controller (East) of the
department. He informed that ninety
percent of the traders show fair dealing
and follow the norms.
The remaining ten percent do not turn up
for verification, said Sharma. |
