CM meets Katalytic Charter Education Foundation team to discuss educational reforms

GANGTOK,  (IPR): Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay today met with the team from the Katalytic Charter Education Foundation (KCF) to review the progress and future direction of educational reform initiatives in the State.

KCF is spearheading transformative efforts in education through the establishment of the Chief Minister’s Charter School (CMCS) at Pangthang Junior High School, launched in 2024. This flagship initiative, operating under a public-private partnership model, is Sikkim’s first charter school and serves as a pilot for future projects.

The foundation’s key interventions, such as play-based learning, the Parakh assessment framework, and a targeted focus on foundational literacy and numeracy are already delivering encouraging results. Looking ahead, the KCF is preparing to launch a 9-month Statewide Remedial and Enrichment Program aimed at boosting Grade 10 CBSE pass percentages. The programme will include intensive teacher training, student support, and regular progress tracking.

The Chief Minister assured the government’s support to KCF in its mission to enhance the quality and reach of education across Sikkim.
