GANGTOK, : Tourism Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) CS Rao on Thursday paid a courtesy
call on to Governor Om Prakash Mathur at Raj Bhavan here.
During
the meeting, the Tourism ACS extended a formal invitation to the Governor to
grace the flag-off ceremony of the first batch of the Kailash MansarovarYatra
2025, scheduled to be held on June 20 at Nathu La.
The
Governor graciously accepted the invitation and inquired about the current status
of helicopter and air services in the State. He also discussed the potential
for enhancing air connectivity in the region, a Raj Bhavan release informs.
Highlighting
the immense potential of Sikkim’s tourism sector, the Governor emphasized the
importance of promoting the State’s rich biodiversity, cultural heritage, and
natural beauty at both national and international levels.
Furthermore,
he directed the ACS to develop an integrated framework to strengthen the
tourism sector in coordination with the Forest, Agriculture, and Culture departments.
In
response, the ACS assured the Governor that he would collaborate closely with
the concerned departments to elevate the tourism industry to greater heights,
