Morcha’s decision to be known on April 1

DARJEELING, : The GJM has not disclosed whether it will contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha election for Darjeeling seat but did urged its supporters to come out in huge numbers for the “nomination” on April 1.

At a party meeting today at Malidhura here, GJM president Bimal Gurung was heard requesting people to assemble in large numbers on April 1.

“You must take out time and come out that day to save your community and for your guardian. You all have not taken any risk the way I have been fighting between life and death, but I am not concerned about it. I am only concerned about my community and the hills for which we should meet on April 1. For our nomination we should make ready all the vehicles in the villages and town area,” said Gurung at the party meeting.

“We should give a good presentation that day with people coming not only from different parts of the Hills but also from the Terai region,” said Gurung while reiterating that they were going for “nominations” on April 1 and wanted all to be ready.

However, Gurung did not disclose whether the Morcha will field a candidate or support a candidate from another party.

With BJP candidate Raju Bista scheduled to file his nominations on April 1 also, speculations are being made that the Morcha might support him.

However, the recent development of the Morcha youth wing who proposed that Gurung himself contest, cannot also be ruled out.
