Pakyong DAC felicitates two employees for their sporting achievements

PAKYONG, (IPR): Pakyong District Collector Tashi Chophel presided over the felicitation ceremony of two remarkable athletes from DAC Pakyong at Rorathang today. The athletes participated in the 10th World Strengthlifting & Incline Bench Press Championships 2023.

The prestigious event, attended by 13 countries at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium in Hyderabad, served as the perfect stage for these extraordinary individuals to showcase their exceptional skills and dedication.

Chewang Bhutia, the Personal Security Officer to the District Collector, secured gold medal in the fiercely competitive 80kg category. 

Another outstanding achiever is Rikila Bhutia, an employee of the District Administrative Office (DAC). She triumphantly obtained a well-deserved bronze medal in the highly competitive 50kg category.

Likewise, the day also marked the warm welcome of the new SDMs while bidding farewell to the former Magistrates.

The DC Pakyong commended the athletes for their unparalleled dedication and hard work, which led to their remarkable achievements on the international stage. He wholeheartedly congratulated them for their outstanding performance and assured them of his unwavering support for their continuous growth and development in their respective sports. 

Furthermore, the DC Pakyong extended his heartfelt gratitude to all the former officers for their unwavering dedication and exceptional performance throughout their respective tenures. He also extends his sincere best wishes for their future endeavors.

The event also had the presence of Laden Lhamu Bhutia, Zilla Adhakshya; Prabha Pradhan, Zilla Upadhakshya; Inchung Bhutia, Advisor Food & Civil Supplies Department, along with Anupa Tamling, ADC Pakyong and officers from various departments and the staff of DAC Pakyong.
