SDF leaders Bhaichung Bhutia & Dr Bina Basnett at NE Leaders Connect Conclave

GANGTOK,: SDF leaders Bhaichung Bhutia and Dr. Bina Basnett is representing Sikkim at the 9th NorthEast Leaders Connect conclave at Nagaland being hosted by the Nagaland government from December 3 to 5, coinciding with the prestigious Hornbill Festival.

A SDF press release informs that Bhaichung delivered the welcome speech in the capacity of the chairperson, NorthEast Leaders Connect while Dr. Basnett provided her insights about the youth of North East as a panellist.

After longs hours of deliberations and sharing of diverse viewpoints, the conclave came to the common conclusion that for the North East, including Sikkim, to progress in the future, greater investment on youth programs is required. Along with this, the importance of good leadership to guide the youths was also emphasised to set the right direction for the youths.

These points arose from the common goal of the conclave to make the youth ‘Aatma Nirbhar’ leaders who pave the way for a brighter future for the North East.

NorthEast Leaders Connect is an annual conclave where leaders from diverse fields like business, politics, academia, sports, music and culture come together in the interest of youths. Each year the conclave conducts presentations, discussions and knowledge sharing amongst the youth leaders to create strategies and policies to uplift the youths in the region.

The conclave has been working diligently for the youth of the region for more than 10 years with the participants creating impactful change for the youth in their respective States, the release mentions.
