78 families join BJP in West Sikkim

GANGTOK,: In a major boost to the BJP’s organizational growth in West Sikkim, 78 families formally joined the party on Tuesday in Yuksom and Darap during the organizational visit of BJP Sikkim State president D.R. Thapa to Geyzing District.

The State BJP president participated in three key events - at Yuksom, Darap, and Heegaon- accompanied by senior party leaders including State vice president N.K. Subba, general secretary Dinesh Chandra Nepal, Geyzing District president DigumLimboo alongside district party functionaries, a party release informs.

Addressing the new members, Thapa highlighted the transformative welfare schemes and development initiatives of the BJP-led government at the Centre. He called upon all party workers and newly joined members to work unitedly for the empowerment and progress of the Sikkimese people.

State BJP vice president N.K. Subba formally welcomed the 78 families into the party fold and briefed them about the current organizational strength and ongoing activities of BJP across Sikkim.

During the programme, the party distributed Ayushman Cards and E-Shram Cards to deserving beneficiaries, enabling them to avail free medical treatment up to Rs5 lakhs and various social security benefits.

Earlier, the visit began with prayers at the sacred Norbugang Monastery in Yuksom, the first capital of Sikkim. This was followed by the joining programme at YuksomandDarap and an organizational meeting at Heegaon.

“The large-scale joining of 62 families from Yuksom and 16 families from Darap underscores the growing popularity and strong public support for the BJP in Sikkim. This momentum reflects the effective leadership at the State level and the dedicated efforts of party karyakartas in expanding the party’s base across the region,” said the State BJP.
