GANGTOK,: Namchi/Sukna-based metal band ‘If Hope Dies’ is set to share
the stage with legendary UK progressive metal band SIKTH at the BigHorn
Festival, scheduled to take place on November 4 in Mumbai.
This marks a
significant milestone for the band and the regional metal scene, as ‘If Hope
Dies’ will perform as the direct support act for the progressive metal
heavyweights during their Mumbai leg, a press release informs.
The band has
steadily built its presence in the Indian metal circuit, having performed at
the prestigious Hornbill Music Festival in 2025. Earlier this year, the band
embarked on an extensive run of shows across major Indian cities, including
Delhi, Kochi, Pune, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Guwahati, as part of its “Break the
Silence Tour.”
‘If Hope Dies’
brings together musicians from Namchi and Sukna, representing the growing metal
community of the region. Drummer Thupden Bhutia and bassist Pradyum Baraily
hail from Namchi, while vocalist Aakash Sherpa and guitarist Abinash Moktan are
from Sukna.
Their upcoming
performance alongside SIKTH is a proud moment for the band and a major step
forward in its journey, putting the region's independent metal scene on a
bigger national platform.
With an
expanding touring history and a growing presence in India's heavy music
circuit, ‘If Hope Dies’ continues to carry the sound and spirit of its home
region to audiences across the country, the release mentions.
