GANGTOK,: On the birth anniversary of the founder of the ICFAI Group, N.J Yasaswy, fashion designer and social entrepreneur Omi Gurung was awarded the Shri N.J Yasaswy Memorial Award 2026 at the Entrepreneurship Day 2026 programme held on Monday at the ICFAI University, Sikkim at Gangtok.
The award was conferred by Prof Jagannath Patnaik, Vice Chancellor, ICFAI University, Sikkim to Omi Gurung in recognition of outstanding contribution to entrepreneurship and innovation, and for inspiring excellence, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, a press release informs.
Omi Gurung addressing the students said “As young people, you should not be afraid to think big. You should observe the world around you, notice its problems and believe that your ideas-no matter how small, can make a difference.”
Along with Omi, Dr. Chingtham Tejbanta Singh, CEO, Atal Incubation Centre, SMIT was also conferred the award.
