GANGTOK,: The
swearing-in ceremony of the State Information Commissioner, organised by the
Department of Personnel, was held on Thursday at Lok Bhawan, Gangtok, in the
presence of Governor Om Prakash Mathur as the chief guest.
Governor
Mathur administered the oath of office to the newly appointed State Information
Commissioner, Tilak Gajmer, following the reading of the notification of his
appointment by Secretary, Home Department, Tenzing T. Kaleon.
The
appointment was notified by the Department of Personnel vide Notification No.
100/Gen/DOP dated October 6, 2026.
The
ceremony was attended by Chief Secretary R. Telang, senior government officials
and dignitaries.
Chief
Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay extended his heartiest congratulations to
Tilak Gajmer on being appointed as the State Information Commissioner of Sikkim
and on taking the oath of office today.
“I
extend my best wishes to him as he assumes this important responsibility. May
his experience and commitment further strengthen transparency, accountability
and citizens’ right to information in the State.Wishing him a successful and
meaningful tenure in service of the people of Sikkim,” said the Chief Minister.
