CCCT achieves NBA accreditation across all departments

GANGTOK, : The Centre for Computers and Communication Technology (CCCT), Chisopani said the institute has achieved full accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) with its remaining two diploma programmes receiving accreditation.

With the latest accreditation of Diploma in Civil Engineering and Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering, all five core departments of the government polytechnic are now NBA-accredited.

The accreditation followed evaluation of the compliance reports submitted by the institution and an expert team data verification visit conducted on July 10, 2026, informs a press release.

The NBA has granted accreditation to the two programmes under the Tier-I format for the period from July 1 to December 31, 2026, followed by accreditation from January 1, 2027 to December 31, 2029. The accreditation also takes into account prior compliance for the academic years 2023-24 to 2025-26, up to June 30, 2026.

The evaluation was carried out against a nine-criteria performance matrix comprising 1,000 marks and was conducted by an expert panel that included senior professors from IIT Dharwad and Delhi University.

The Civil Engineering Department has become the first department of its kind in Sikkim to receive NBA accreditation, marking a significant milestone for technical education in the state, the officials said.

With the latest accreditation, the five accredited departments of CCCT are Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The institution said the achievement reflects its continued efforts towards academic excellence, institutional quality and improvement of technical education standards in Sikkim.
