CM congratulates Milan Kumar Subba on appointment as SPSC chairman

GANGTOK,: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Saturday congratulated Milan Kumar Subba on his appointment as the new chairman of Sikkim Public Service Commission (SPSC).

In a Facebook post, the Chief Minister said leading the “prestigious institution” was a great honour and responsibility and expressed confidence that under Subba’s leadership, the Commission would continue to uphold the highest standards of merit, transparency, fairness and integrity in public service.

Subba, a retired Sikkim State General Service officer and former member of the SPSC, has been appointed chairman for a six-year term, according to a State government notification issued recently. He succeeds Kuldip Chettri.

Subba had been serving as an SPSC member for about a year before being elevated to the top post.

The SPSC conducts examinations and recruits candidates for various State government services and civil posts in Sikkim.

A resident of Rumbuk in Soreng district, Subba retired as Excise secretary in May 2025. During his career, he served in several departments including Education, Information and Public Relations and Sports and Youth Affairs,  Rural Development and Land Revenue department.
