Floodlight system installed at SICA Mining Ground

PAKYONG, (IPR): In a significant milestone for sports infrastructure development in Sikkim, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay, alongside Chief Justice of the High Court of Sikkim, Biswanath Somadder, today inaugurated the newly installed floodlight system at the Mining SICA Cricket Ground, in the presence of president of the Sikkim Cricket Association Tika Subba.

“This facility has been established with the support and sponsorship of the Government of Sikkim, whose continued commitment to infrastructure development and public welfare has made this initiative possible.”

The event was organised by the Sikkim Cricket Association (SICA) to boost cricket. The installation of the floodlights is expected to transform the cricket ground into a venue capable of hosting professional-level day-night matches and extended training sessions, thereby elevating the standard of cricket facilities in the region.

Present at the inaugural function were the Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly (SLA), Deputy Speaker of SLA, cabinet ministers, Members of the Legislative Assembly, head of departments, dignitaries from various line departments, officials from SICA and the general public.
