Governor extends support to State KhoKho association

GANGTOK,: Governor Om Prakash Mathur granted audience to the Sikkim KhoKho Association and KhoKho players at LokBhavan today following the successful conduct of the first State-Level Kho-Kho Championship 2026 recently.

In a brief function, the Governor met and congratulated the winners and runners-up players of the State championship, a LokBhavan press release informs.

He also extended financial aid to Sikkim KhoKho Association and stated that Kho-Kho is a symbol of India’s culture and traditions. He assured his continued support and encouragement for organizing such championship in the future.

KhoKhoassociation president B.K. Roka expressed his gratitude to the Governor for his encouragement and support.

It may be mentioned that the Governor inaugurated the three-day championship held from April 3 to 5 at Reshithang near here. The championship was organised by Sikkim KhoKho Association which witnessed participation of 24 teams, the release mentions.
