Municipal Elections: Namchi district wards go uncontested after withdrawals

NAMCHI, (IPR): Following up on the process of withdrawal of candidature for the General Municipality Elections, 2026, two candidates from Namchi Municipal Council duly submitted their withdrawal forms at the Office of the Municipal Returning Officer, Namchi, Anupa Tamling, today.

Candidates, Pem Norbu Bhutia who was contesting as a candidate from SKM Party for 03 Upper Ghurpisey Ward and Nima Choden Lepcha who was contesting as an independent candidate for 01 Gangyap Ward, both under NMC, filed their withdrawals, which was then duly accepted by the MRO Namchi.

Consequently, following up on the withdrawal by the two candidates, the remaining candidates for all the 12 wards, 7 wards under NMC and 5 Wards under NJNP, in the district are as follows:

7. Mr Manoj Kumar Manger (SKM Party) from 07 Purano Namchi Ward
