CM-SAATHI Initiative launched for Sikkim’s JEE-NEET aspirants

GANGTOK,: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay on Thursday launched the CM-SAATHI (SATHEE) Initiative, a landmark education programme of the Government of Sikkim.

Sharing details on social media, the Chief Minister expressed that CM-SAATHI reaffirms the State government’s commitment to empowering every aspiring student with access to quality education and equal opportunities.

It was informed that CM-SAATHI is launched in collaboration with IIT-Kanpur under the Government of India’s SATHEE Initiative. CM-SAATHI will provide free, world-class coaching and academic support for JEE and NEET aspirants through expert video lectures, study materials, mock tests, practice questions, doubt-solving support, and technology-enabled learning.

This initiative ensures that quality coaching reaches the homes and schools of our students, regardless of their financial background, said the Chief Minister.

“Building upon our Lakshya Centre of Excellence, CM-SAATHI is another significant step towards ensuring that no deserving student is left behind due to a lack of resources. More than 2,000 students from over 40 Government and private schools across Sikkim are expected to benefit from this transformative programme. It will also strengthen the professional capabilities of our Science and Mathematics teachers through collaboration with IIT Kanpur,” said Golay.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also requested the Ministry of Education and IIT-Kanpur to consider extending similar support for other national-level competitive examinations such as CUET, CLAT, NDA, UPSC Foundation, and others, so that students from every academic stream can benefit.

“I encourage our students to dream big, remain disciplined, and make the most of this opportunity. I also call upon our principals, teachers, and parents to guide and motivate our young learners as they prepare to achieve excellence.”

The Chief Minister extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Ministry of Education, Government of India, IIT-Kanpur, the SATHEE team, and everyone associated with the Education Department for their invaluable support in making this initiative a reality.

“CM-SAATHI is more than a programme, it is an investment in the aspirations of our youth and the bright future of Sikkim. Together, let us nurture a generation of doctors, engineers, scientists, innovators, and leaders who will make our State and the nation proud,” said the Chief Minister.
