Inter-School Sports Meet: St. Joseph’s School, North Point and Manjusri Public School shines on day 2

GANGTOK,: On the second day of the 1st Inter-School Sports Meet organised at Manjusri Public School, Temi campus, 10 volleyball and three football league matches were played.

Former Education director Hari Dhungel and the principals of Bojoghari SSS and Temi SSS graced the occasion as special guests, informs a press release.

In the football match, St. Joseph’s School outplayed Manjusri Public School with 5-0 goals. Continuing the winning streak, North Point defeated Temi SSS 3-2 in an electrifying match and became the first team to reach the finals.

The match between Mt. Zion and Temi SSS concluded in a 1-1 draw in the second match.

In the girls’ volleyball match, MPS ‘B’ won against TNA in two straight sets, 25-11 and 25-17, and defeated Taktse as well, 25-20 and 25-14, in the fourth match.

In a very tight match, MPS ‘A’ displayed their fighting spirit and won against Don Bosco 13-25, 25-14, and 15-09 in the third match of the day. Manjusri’s ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams have both qualified for the semi-finals.

G.D. Goenka fought back, winning against PNG 18-25, 25-16, and 15-05 after losing the first set, and then registered their second win against Namchi SSS 25-14 and 25-10 in the last match to reach the semi-finals.

In the boys’ volleyball match, Don Bosco, in a one-sided game, won against Temi SSS in two straight sets, 25-09 and 25-07. TNA registered their easy win against Taktse 25-14 and 25-18, but lost against MPS with a close margin of 26-24 and 25-18.

G.D. Goenka registered their first win of the tournament against Ben SSS, 25-08 and 25-20, while Bojoghari SSS won against Temi SSS, 22-25, 25-12, and 15-11 in the deciding set. Manjusri, North Point, and Don Bosco have reached the semi-finals.

The day ended with a short musical programme by the pupils of the host and visiting schools, the release mentions.
