Meeting reviews Meri Maati Mera Desh events

GANGTOK, (IPR): A review meeting regarding the programmes to be organized under ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was held at the Teesta Lounge, at Tashiling Secretariat.

The meeting was chaired by chief secretary V.B. Pathak and attended by Education ACS R. Telang, ACS, Home ACS C.S. Rao, DGP A.K. Singh, Rural Development commissioner-cum-secretary D. Anandan, CCS, Forest principal secretary-cum-PCCF Pradeep Kumar, IPR secretary Karma Youtso, Urban Development secretary M.T. Sherpa, Sports secretary Raju Basnet, Culture secretary Basant Kumar Lama and Gangtok DC Tushar Nikhare. Soreng DC Bhim Thatal joined the meeting online through video conference.

V.B. Pathak said that ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ envisions a unified celebration of India's soil and valour, commemorating the nation's journey of freedom and progress. He said that by connecting with the land and honouring our heroes, this programme will instil a sense of national pride and inspire future generations to protect India's cherished heritage.

The chief secretary gave directives to all concerned officers regarding their respective responsibilities to be followed for conducting programmes under ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’.

On August 14, Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya will be participating in events related to ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ at Adampool junior high school.

Similarly, on August 13, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamnag will be taking part in events at Chakung.

A State-level programme will be held at Manan Kendra on August 22 which will be attended by the Governor and the Chief Minister, officers of rank from under secretary and equivalent and above wherein the ‘Panch Pran Pledge’ will be administered by the Governor.

The heads of all government departments will administer the pledge on August 18.

The programmes will cover ‘Shilaphalakam’, ‘Panch Pran Pledge’, ‘Vasudha Vandhan’, ‘Veeron ka Vandan’ and ‘Rashtragaan’.

Simultaneously, the campaign of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ will continue from August 13 to 15.

Other important issues were also elaborated to the officials present in the meeting.

The programme activities of the allied departments were discussed thoroughly.
