GANGTOK,: The 9t Sikkim Basketball League organised by Basketball Association of Sikkim (BAS) started
today in the indoor basketball court in Palzor Stadium complex.
Five
matches were played on the opening day.
Sikkim
Boys defeated Kyi De Khang 72-25, Taktse International School beat Manjusri
Public School 58-40, Demi Monks defeated Hounds 44-36, Ravens defeated Yetis
80-51 and Denzong Singyes defeated Druk Squad 88-27.
The
opening ceremony had area MLA Delay Namgyal Barfungpa as the chief guest. Also
present were SIMFED chairman and BAS chief patron Tenzing Dorjee Bhutia, State
Sports Development Board chairman Rinzing Wangyal Chopel and GMC commissioner
Gary Chopel.
